Floating presenter notes and demo timer
Prepare demo cues in your browser, then open them in a floating Document Picture-in-Picture window. Move through one cue at a time, adjust its text size, and keep an elapsed timer visible while you present. Your notes stay in this browser.
How to use the presenter notes overlay
- Write your cues. Add your demo outline and separate each cue with a blank line.
- Open the floating window. In a supported desktop browser, open the notes as a separate always-on-top Picture-in-Picture window.
- Present at your pace. Move between cues, adjust text size, and reset the elapsed timer from the floating window.
- Test screen sharing first. Capture behavior depends on the browser, operating system, and meeting app. A full-screen share may include the floating notes.
Private notes, with a screen-sharing caveat
Notes are saved in local browser storage and are not uploaded to OpenWebStore. Picture-in-Picture keeps the notes in a separate floating window, but it does not guarantee that another app’s full-screen recording or screen share will omit that window. Share only the demo application window when that option is available, and test your exact setup before presenting.
Presenter overlay questions
Does the presenter overlay work in every browser?
No. The floating window uses Document Picture-in-Picture, which is only available in some desktop browsers. The tool checks browser support before enabling the floating-window button.
Will my notes be hidden when I share my screen?
Not necessarily. Capture behavior varies by browser, operating system, and meeting software. Treat the overlay as visible during full-screen sharing unless you have tested your exact setup; sharing a specific demo window is safer.
Are my presenter notes uploaded?
No. Your notes are saved in local storage in this browser and are not sent to OpenWebStore.
